Te Arawa Management Ltd has a new director with David Tapsell joining Tanira Kingi, Geoff Rolleston, Lana Ngawhika and Mana Newton (chair) on the Board. David is well known to many of us.
The Ngāti Whakaue commercial lawyer has been on the board of the Pukeroa Oruawhata Group, Te Puia and Waihunuhunukuri Holdings for some time, and also holds directorships on the New Zealand Lotteries Commission. Chair Mana Newton says, “It is exciting to have someone with David’s experience join us at the same time we have our new commercial manager, Cassandra Crowley, in place. We can focus on reviewing our strategy for growing our assets and providing a good stream of income for Te Arawa Lakes Trust”.
TAML has been reviewing all of its existing assets and developing a strategy for these. Part of this will see the removal of two dangerous buildings at Little Waihi. We want the whānau to be living in safe, secure housing in their community. This also means addressing the challenges of sea level rise proactively.
We have also launched some new policies for our property manager to put into use. This will ensure that the assets are well maintained and can be a source of pride to TALT and those who rent or lease the properties. We do receive enquiries from time to time from whānau members who are interested in renting or leasing properties at Little Waihi or Maketu – if you or your whānau are interested please fill out this form so we can contact you when the next property becomes available.
