Kia ora e te whānau,

This year a total of 344 beneficiaries registered for a fishing licence, kai runga noa atu koutou!

We are proud to announce that all our registered beneficiaries who entered the ballot for a subsidised Fishing Licence this year, have been granted one, and NO ballot draw will take place!

Subsidy confirmed

All 111 Kōeke registered with the trust who registered their interest for a licence this year will receive their free licence as per our policy. If you applied for a Whānau / Whole Season licence, there may be a small fee associated.

For all remaining beneficiaries, you will be pleased to learn that the subsidy has increased to 80% this year.

Confirmation to successful ballot applicants

We will contact successful applicants by email Wednesday 21 September or by phone (if no email provided) to confirm your licence type as well as the associated fee (if any) and payment options.

Payments and issuing licences

Free Kōeke licences will automatically be issued Wednesday 21 September.

For other licences with fees associated, we will be accepting payments by EFTPOS, from Thursday 22 September.

Once we receive confirmation of payment, we will process licences online and your temporary paper licence will be sent to the email address provided. It will take up to 10 working days from the date your licence is processed, for your licence card to land in your mailbox / post box.

IMPORTANT – Notice of location – We advise whānau that the main doors of the Te Arawa Lakes Trust office are currently inaccessible, therefore we will be temporarily issuing licences at WERA Aotearoa Charitable Trust, 1137 Pukuatua Street, Rotorua.

Once the Te Arawa Lakes Trust main doors are accessible, we will advise whānau of the move back to our tari/office at 1161 Pukuatua Street, to issue licences.
