We have heard that hunga tiaki is the appropriate term for a Te Arawa tangata/wahine taking care of the taiao hence the name change!
Our hunga tiaki wānanga have so far resulted in the establishment of the Climate Change working group, Harry Carson (intern at BOPRC) produced a review of Iwi Managements to identify how Te Arawa Lakes Trust can support hapū and iwi to see these policies and projects delivered and given the team focus on how we can best support hapū and iwi.
The next wānanga is being hosed by Te Rangiunuora at Taurua Marae and will focus on the development of the Sewerge Schemes.
We will post the date shortly.
Nau mai haere mai!
