Te Papa Ahurewa manager Haimona Te Nahu says, “The consent is an undertaking of any stormwater related activities and management of urban stormwater in our rohe to improve water quality and protect our waterways,”

MANAGER: Haimona Te Nahu

Te Papa Ahurewa is our Te Arawa environmental advocacy group tasked with merging the gap between policy and iwi communities.

“We are appointed to coordinate hapū input into the storm water management consent application in the area from Ngongotahā in the west to Waingaehe in the east,”

“Rotorua hapū are critical to the process, because their generational knowledge and mātauranga are the key to unlocking and activating solutions to our very complex environmental issues.”

Te Arawa hapū for this area include Ngāti Whakaue, Ngāti Tura-Te Ngākau, Ngāti Kea-Ngāti Tuara, Uenukukōpako and Tūhourangi.
