Te Arawa Lakes Trust is pleased to provide an update on voting participation in the Trustee Election, with steady engagement across all tupuna rohe.
As of November 5, 2024, we have received 606 voting papers, comprising 546 online submissions and 60 postal ballots.
Te Ure o Uenukukōpako Tūpuna Rohe has seen the most submissions of 234 votes, followed by Tūhourangi Tūpuna Rohe at 198 votes in total and Te Kawatapuārangi Tūpuna Rohe at 174 votes.
Te Arawa members have shown a clear preference for online voting, with 90% of ballots submitted digitally, reflecting a positive trend towards accessible and convenient voting methods.
Voting remains open until November 30, 2024, and we encourage all eligible Te Arawa descendants to participate. The election results, to be published by December 8, will shape the future leadership of the Te Arawa Lakes Trust.
